Welcome to The Lamb Inn

Dog Friendly

The Lamb Inn

Since taking ownership of The Lamb Inn in June 2000, we have supported The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association as our main charity. We have raised funds for this worthwhile charity by holding quiz nights, running raffles, selling second hand books & selling homemade craft items.

We also have a large “Guide Dog Bottle” in the bar where staff & visitors alike can donate any small change they have. It costs £1000 to train a guide dog & we are delighted to say that in the last 16 years we have funded the training of 12 dogs & we are extremely proud of this achievement.

We decided to name the first dog we sponsored Arnie & would use the next letter in the alphabet for subsequent dogs. To date we have Barney, Charlie, Dinky, Elvis, Francesca, Gillie, Henrietta, Izzy, Jacob, Kracker & Larry.

We are delighted that the Guide Dog Association have given us official photos of all the dogs we have sponsored & these are on display in the bar. Local customers & visitors to The Lamb help our cause by donating their used books for us to sell & lots of guests who stay in our rooms buy these books for their holiday reading.

As a result of our guide dog sponsorship, we are pleased that Kate Fenwick from Cheltenham a representative of the association and a guide dog owner herself, regularly visits our Inn accompanied by her retired & working dogs.

She attends the quizzes & usually gives a short talk during the evening explaining how her guide dogs have helped her in everyday life.

We plan to continue our association with this deserving charity for many years to come & hope that one day we can reach the end of the alphabet of dog names, with “Zara” being the name we have already chosen.

A big thank you to everybody who has contributed to this worth cause, we really appreciate your fabulous support.

Your dogs at The Lamb Inn:

We allow well behaved dogs in all of our rooms & accompany their owners into the bar area. However, some of our rooms are smaller than others, so please consider this when bringing a large dog or if you wish to bring more than one. Please ring 01451 820388 and our team can advise you accordingly. An additional charge of £15.00 per dog per night will be levied on the room rate when booking via a third party but complimentary when booking directly with us.
